Corris Hostel
Corris Hostel, in Corris Village is an independent hostel which was formerly a YHA one and before that the village primary school.
There are two big (18 and 10 bed) dormitories for children and another four for staff. The huge
former schoolroom is the focal point for the week, and when extra (or clearer) space is needed
for games and other activities we use Corris Institute, just a hundred metres or so away. Beyond
that is the terminus of the narrow gauge Corris Railway and beyond that are playing fields for
outdoor games.
For each week we plan at least one expedition to Machynlleth, which has a market and an
excellent swimming pool, and one further afield.
The Venture Centre (Isle of Man)
The Venture Centre is a converted farm steading in Lewaigue, south of Ramsey on
the east coast of the Isle of Man. It offers excellent opportunities for
exploring the hills, coast and history of the island as well as all the usual
EcoWeek fun and games.
